OVER 200 ICT TEACHER FROM 50 DISTRICTS ACROSS UGANDA PARTICIPATES IN A 1 DAY CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Edutech Club, in collaboration with the ICT Teachers’ Association of Uganda (ITAU) and KABSTECH Resources Center Ltd, equipped teachers with practical digital skills during a one-day capacity development workshop that brought together over 200 ICT teachers from 50 districts across Uganda.

The workshop was designed to strengthen hands-on competencies and enhance the delivery of ICT education in schools.

The training focused on designing static websites using key web authoring software, including WordPress, Microsoft Expression Web, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Microsoft FrontPage, enabling teachers to gain practical experience they can pass on to their learners. Additional sessions covered Artificial Intelligence (AI), highlighting its growing relevance in education, and setting effective assessment items aligned with competency-based learning.

Participants also enjoyed a guided tour of the National ICT Innovation Hub, with highlights including the IoT (Internet of Things) Lab, the Podcast Studio, and showcases of local innovations. The workshop reinforced a shared commitment to empowering ICT teachers as drivers of digital transformation in Uganda’s education system.
